CHIRP LAUNCHES CHIRPSCREEN: THE SCREEN SAVER THAT LETS YOU DISCOVER WHAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE UP TO

Company secures funding from Greylock Partners and Jeff Clavier’s SoftTech VC

San Francisco, CA – January 24, 2008 – Chirp Interactive, Inc., a leading provider of social applications that leverage the power of open networks, today announced the launch of the public beta version of their first product, chirpscreen. chirpscreen stimulates richer friendships by enabling users to discover their friends’ content and activities on social websites through a customized, interactive screen saver. Chirp also announced they have secured seed funding from leading Silicon Valley investors including Greylock Partners, Jeff Clavier’s SoftTech VC, and angel investors Reid Hoffman (Chairman and founder of LinkedIn), Jay Adelson (CEO of Digg), and Dave Samuel (founder of Spinner.com and Grouper). chirpscreen is now available for download at www.chirp.com.

"Screen savers run on hundreds of millions of computers, yet there's been very little innovation over the past decade in the user experience," said James Slavet of Greylock Partners. “chirpscreen cleverly transforms the screen saver into a tool for staying more closely connected to your personal network. This product is a very promising first step in Chirp’s roadmap of deeper social applications.”

"Chirp's applications will make use of content available through one's social graph in a fun, addictive and useful way", said Jeff Clavier of SoftTech VC. "We don't have to time to browse through thousands of pictures, pieces of text, and soon videos. chirpscreen will do it for us, through a visually engaging experience. You sit back, watch the show, discover what your friends have been up to, and feel a deeper sense of connection."

Aimed to help people stay in touch with their friends, chirpscreen includes content from sources such as Flickr and Facebook® Platform. chirpscreen automatically gathers new content posted by friends, such as photos and status updates, and creates a personalized screen saver of that content. The application allows also users to interact directly with the content – and the owners of that content – via the screen saver.

"With the explosion of content that our friends are creating on the internet, it is becoming impossible for us to keep up with those we care about. Chirp is here to help sort through all the chatter," said Eve Phillips, co-founder and CEO of Chirp Interactive. "By making our screen savers into extensions of our social networks, chirpscreen empowers us to be even closer and more connected with our friends."

Chirp has been testing chirpscreen in a closed beta for the past two months and has received constructive and enthusiastic feedback. "I’ve discovered new things about my friends that I never would have known without chirpscreen," declared one participant. Consumers interested in participating in the chirpscreen beta can download the application at www.chirp.com. The company will also be exhibiting at the WebGuild Web 2.0 Conference & Expo on January 29, 2008, in Santa Clara, California.
